The Start of Me and You by Emory Lord - Review

The Start of Me and You by Emory Lord – 3/5 stars

I didn’t enjoy the start of this book, it was slow and not particularly interesting but I wanted to persist with it because the goodreads reviews spoke highly of it. I, however, didn’t overly enjoy the book.

I liked the plot and the characters but both were a little flimsy with slight slip up I picked up on. From the very beginning I was rolling my eyes at Paige ‘The Cliche’ Hancock and her obsession over Ryan Chase (even his name is cliche). I predicted every twist and turn and didn’t really feel like the ending was fulfilling for the characters or for the reader.

I feel like I’m being negative, but I really wasn’t blown away by this novel. The dialogue was average and long winded at times and the character developments weren’t meaningful or significant. I mean it was okay, but it wasn’t a knock my socks off kind of thing.

I recommend this for an easy weekend read, a sweet and chill novel.
